An introduction to Autism and emotional assistance training

This practical workshop is designed for parents and carers of under 25's with autism or other additional social, emotional, sensory and/or behavioural needs. The workshop runs from 1pm till 5pm.

Refreshments provided. We only have 6 spaces on this course. 
The first 3 hours of this workshop will be inside and the final hour will involve practicing outside. In this workshop we will introduce you to teaching your dog deep pressure therapy, interupting destructive behaviour (including self harm), finding the young person if they wander/bolt and dual handling. We will also introduce you to some fun games which can help support sensory exploration and strengthening the bond between child and dog. The final hour will be applying training out in public spaces. The course will contain a nixture of short presentations, demonstrations and practicing with your own dogs so we can provide you with tailored advice for your specific situation and dog. 

While children are allowed at this event it is designed for parents and carers and there is therefore not any additional provision for children
